Re: Shims needed for reed work

Hi, I'm not sure if the size is what you are looking for, but I found the metal strip inside the music CD theft prevention tag very useful for harmonica reed work. I went to my CD collection and found loads of those plastic sticks usually stuck between the CD tray and the back of the case. If you ca...

Re: Tuning of harmonicaMD ?

The tuning is: Blow: FACFEb GBD GF Draw: GCEGBb ADF#AC So the 5th blow note in each section is a whole step lower than the 4th note. Putting it in scale degrees, the blow chord is 13517b the draw chords are 51357b I think the meaning of the Band chord is just that if the band or the music chart has ...

Re: TuneMaster harmonica

So I just got my Tunemaster today and have had a chance to give it a quick trial run. Based on my first run through I would say you can expect to be able to tune any note down a 1/2 step. With the magnets removed, my harp was about a 1/4 step sharp. You could get down a bit more than a 1/2 step but ...

Re: Hohner Multitune

I'm guessing that's an April Fool's Day joke. But in a similar vein, I just got a newsletter from Turbo Harp that their TuneMaster is now available. The FAQ says you can adjust the pitch of both blow and draw notes. They don't answer specifically, but I'm inferring the amount of change is a half ste...

Re: TuneMaster harmonica

I haven't seen one of these, but I do have a couple of turbo slide harps. I'm confident this is a real instrument and equally confident that it works as shown the in the video. I would guess that you are all right about this model only having tunable blow reeds. There might be some way to place a ma...

Re: New Tool and Method for Improving Harmonica Reed Response

This is definitely worth a try. Did you try using it along the entire edge of the reed plate vs just 1/3 + embossing?

Re: My modular chord harmonica

I recorded a couple of tracks to compare the traditional chord harmonica to the power chord harmonica, but I can't attach mp3 or m4a files. Are there any types of sound files that can be attached to messages in this forum?
