Re: Harmonica under water(?) :)

Short answer: no, never in a million years.

Maybe in a few million years if everything melts, humans evolve to breathe water, etc. Frequencies of notes would be super low. Even whales communicate under water but still use air I think.

Re: Introduce yourself

Hello to all, just introducing me here. I'm a tubist with the U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" Washington DC for about 22 years. I found my first harp in my child's B-day party gift pack about 7 years ago and started getting interested since then. I mostly enjoy the chromatic, and especially the thou...

Re: High D diatonic chrom?

Thanks Brendan, that's what I figured but wanted to be sure. Plus I've seen the Youtube w/you doing the whole thing on the Suzuki and don't think they do custom setups (Drunken Landlady set). Great stuff. I was just scared of doing that to those tiny reeds up there. I will give it a go-what's the wo...

Re: High D diatonic chrom?

Hi Triona, thank you so much for you info and detailed response! So in my experience, I have several chromatic harps, Suzuki SCX, Hohner 270 & CX12 in C, G, A, E, Eb, F, D and as far as I know "C" is the highest available. I have dozens of diatonic harps in all keys, up to a G higher than the standa...

Re: High D diatonic chrom?

I do have a CX 12 in D.

It is low (a step above the tenor C chromatic).

Re: High D diatonic chrom?

Thanks Jimbo! What you're doing sounds interesting albeit above my pay grade. I'm used to regular choms and diatonics. I have made a couple of paddy richter diatonics (involves changing one note only). And I've turned chroms into diatonic (raising any sharp notes by a half-step) which is easy. Given...

High D diatonic chrom?

Hi, first post here. I love playing many songs from New Irish Harmonica-I've re-tuned a few harps for that. I want a slide diatonic in high D as featured in "Drunken Landlady" and others. I know you can configure reedplates from Seydel/Hohner now, but not back then when he made those recordings. Que...
