Re: Pentatonic harmonica

Thank you for the answer. It was the same answer that I got in the case of the other tuning. (It was the Spanish tuning.) Seems to be a principle of the construction of a harmonica tuning layout in common, not depending on which type of tuning there is intended. Once a certain tuning works in one ke...

Re: The Dingle Angle Tuning

Just what I wanted to say. There are really good reasons for both of it. Just depending on the tune, the rhythm, the genre, the personal style and whatever else. And every time I have tested and practised a new tuning or a new type of harp excessively, I return to others for those purposes, where th...

Re: The SlipSlider - a Revolutionary Blues Harp.

Dont know if its useful but i did it in small steps. Yes. I think it is useful. I made the same experience with many different things. Some examples: 1. Chromatical harmonica: After having put them aside for decades, I started with my rhythmic polyphonic style on Richter tuned chrom (a special tuni...

Re: The Dingle Angle Tuning

Hihihi ... It's not all times that any special tuning works out best. For some tunes just a simple Richter will do best. ;) It's not to forget about amidst all the fine new stuff anyway. And at least - the Richters all of us most probably have on-hand in all keys - or at least in most of the common ...

Re: The SlipSlider - a Revolutionary Blues Harp.

Double sided tape would be sufficient. I think it suites better than most of the common glues. (And I certainly would not prefer E6000.) That the tape is easily to remove is a plus too.

Re: Spanish tuning

Hi Karl, thank you very much for the info about the scale on which this tuning is based to. This was a question I had asked me too some times. Just I had forgotten to write it in my first post. That it must have to be any minor could I easily hear. But which one of the many? And that there were only...

Re: The SlipSlider - a Revolutionary Blues Harp.

I guess you must teach your kids quite fast how to play the harmonica. So they must not cry any more about your cutting down their LEGO.

But anyway - that seems to be a good solution for the grip problem.

Re: Spanish tuning

Hi Karl, thank you for the answer. Just as I presumed. The diagrams below seem to be all correct, only that "B" and "Bb" are confused in one place (A/Bb tuning), which I suppose is due to the difference in German standard notation (AHC) compared to the English/Dutch notation (ABC), where German B is...

Re: Natural Minor Lucky 13's and New Case?

Is it bad luck to own 13 Lucky 13's? (sorry!) Bob I don't think so. And as it looks, it certainly will not remain like this. ;) To make them in minor keys as well could not be that difficult for the manufacturer's logistics. And above all, you might as well be hanged for a sheep as a lamb. Why not ...
