Merging "Spiral" with "Slide-Diatonic"
Here in the USA we used to have television ads depicting hypothetical “accidents” whereby a chocolate bar is crashed into peanut butter, thereby inspiring one of our more popular candies. Here I want to explore what happens when we crash Spiral/Circular/Helical tuning with Brendan Power’s 12-hole Sl...

Re: Exploring a "Spiral-Chromatic" concept. Is this new?
The first post (above) shows a flat-slide version of this concept -- because flat-slide is my personal leaning. I am probably in the minority there. In any case, here is the sharp-slide counterpart of this idea. Note that in both cases the tonics (and therefore the other scale degrees) of the major ...

Exploring a "Spiral-Chromatic" concept. Is this new?
In the past year or so I have become increasingly interested in tunings that are based on the general spiral/circular/helical concept. In the tuning below I have a slide (or Slideless ! ;) ) type of chromatic harp. However, instead of having the two layers differ by one semitone between the "slide-i...

"Wide v-Chord" re-tuning of Richter
In my first few posts here https://www.brendan-power.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=212#p1119 I considered some tunings that included lowering standard Richter's 7 draw note by two semitones -- making it equal to the 6 draw's pitch. Well over a year ago I got this far on what was going to be a more e...

Re: A parsimonious blues tuning for the Seydel Big Six
I should probably mention that this tuning was inspired by my own re-tuning of the Hohner PentaHarp . That re-tuning is shown here: https://www.brendan-power.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=858#p3792 It is different only by the six blow note. I should also note that the tuning shown above is in the lo...

Re: A parsimonious blues tuning for the Seydel Big Six
I have ordered this through Seydel's Configurator. I will report back later.

Re: How to get Extra, Deeper Bends on Harmonica
Brendan, you recently posted a YouTube video in which you explain and demonstrate various alternate positions for the Hohner PentaHarp. Here again we can see even more possibilities if we were to play those positions with HFS technology. Pretty cool!
