Re: Minor tuning adjustment to Power Chromatic Lucky 13
When I read 'melodic minor', I think of a scale where both the sixth and the seventh can be either major or minor (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minor_scale#Melodic_minor_scale). The major sixth above the note A is an F#, which is missing from your proposed tuning (unless you use overblows or valved...

Re: Seydel Nonslider
Excellent I sent them an email asking if I could purchase just the mouthpiece as I have no need for a c Harp in solo tuning. No reply as yet. While corresponding with Seydel about something else I asked precisely the same question. They just told me to keep an eye on the homepage to see when it wou...

Would the new Seydel NonSlider allow you to easily use embouchure to easily play both rows? That might shed some new interesting light on the ideas in this thread

Re: Seydel Nonslider
Seydel are appearing on the stream of this years Chromatic Weekend, 1:15 pm UK time today. In yesterday's introductory speech they mentioned that Seydel would introduce something new, so we might get to know more about it. There are zoom and youtube links on their page: http://harmonica.uk/HUKBlog/c...

Seydel Nonslider
Seydel seem to have just released something pretty alternative: https://www.seydel1847.de/nonsliderdeluxesteel It's an un-valved slideless chromatic with two reeds per chamber, allowing for interactive reed bending. Even overblows, they claim. Even if the latter might require a little tweaking, gett...

Re: Introducing the Wedin Chromatic – folk music ornaments in many keys
Concerning the issues Brendan intuited... Making sure all notes in an all-blow or all-draw sequence have the right lengths is something I do struggle with sometimes, especially if you want that kind of pumping groove that's appropriate for many kinds of Irish tunes. Less pumping (in lack of a better...

Re: Introducing the Wedin Chromatic – folk music ornaments in many keys
Thanks for the Phrase Maps Edvin - they are really helpful. Good to know! I made some more :D These are blow-on-top charts, but swapping them is easy if you would like them reversed. basic-phrase-map-pentatonic.png I suggest you should post your new info and diagrams to chromatic harmonica forums l...

Re: Introducing the Wedin Chromatic – folk music ornaments in many keys
That sounds very nice. You are a wizzard. Thanks again. But what do you think about this key? Is this tuning correct? https://abload.de/img/weddingchromed13jkz.jpg b=blow, z=draw, obere Stimmplatte=slide out, untere Stimmplatte=slide in I think if I used C minor scale i.e. Eb major, this must fit a...

Re: Introducing the Wedin Chromatic – folk music ornaments in many keys
Thanks for your great work :-) It is very interesting, but I must longer think about it. And perhaps I must try an harmonica to see, if I can master this tuning. But I'm afraid it seems for me in this tuning not so good, because a scale I often use is D Eb F# G A Bb C D. And this is, if I have reco...

Re: Introducing the Wedin Chromatic – folk music ornaments in many keys
Brendan: Do you mean something like this? basic-phrase-maps.png basic-phrase-maps-brendan-style.png Scales involving the slide are somewhat more involved to map out, but I'll see what I can do. Gerhard: I think the scale you mention should work OK, the only question mark is the transition between Eb...
