Re: Lucky 13 Powerchromatic, key D, plus some diatonics

Hi Triona, yes the tuning above is correct. ... except of the fact that the enantonics rather should be called C# instead of Db with the key of D. Will on you about the lucky 13 :D Is this a typo? Or is it an idiom I never have heard of before? Hi Triona, cover plates are chrome. Oh, v...

Re: Lucky 13 Powerchromatic, key D, plus some diatonics

No problems on the PM yet. I got it. I will answer tonight regarding the trade (payment, shipping address etc). As for the harmonica: I presume the cover plates come with the black coating as a surface finish? They usually were like this those days afaik. Maybe I can get some chrome steel cover plat...

Re: Lucky 13 Powerchromatic, key D, plus some diatonics

Hi Dan, I would like to buy the Lucky13 Power Chromatic, key D. Is it posible for you to post it to Germany? (I think a normal letter will do.) Btw: Did I count out the layout of the D key correctly? (The layout of the G key I copied from Brendans website.) https://up.picr.de/38477004bs.jpg dear gre...

England meets Sweden

English rock harmonica star Will Wilde meets Swedish rock and blues harmonica lady Elin “Luffar Lo” Öberg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhrt8QBcngg It is a Seydel promotion video for their harmonicas with the new Will Wilde tuning. This seems to be worthwhile to be discussed here as well btw. dea...

more records from Brendan

discovered today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QcZ14UFdR8 O'Carolan belongs to my favourites. And I love the harp too. It comes from his 2015 album "Harp to Harp", which he did together with Anne-Marie O'Farrel on the harp. I already have quite a lot of Brendan's records. But this one I did not ...

Re: PowerChromatic options?

@ Seydel: And if the high price should be a retarding argument, I can recommend to choose the "Deluxe Steel" version. It has eactly the same reedplates as the "Saxony Steel". The difference is the acrylic comb of the "Deluxe" instead of the aluminium comb of the Saxony - besides the satinised finish...

Re: Guilhem Desq

Oh yes, indeed. The last year I experienced Symbio in concert - and purchased both of their CDs. Thanks for the link. This about the bending is very interesting. I have heard this some times in the past. But I did not realize that this practically was reed bending. And neither I knew how this was do...

IRISH HARMONICA LOCKDOWN DUET - Tijn Berends & Brendan Power

I just discovered that Brendan did it too. :D IRISH HARMONICA LOCKDOWN DUET - Tijn Berends & Brendan Power Jig to Reel Mist Covered Mountains The Sligo Maid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdWGJf_rfE8 Very nice! A technical question: What kind of harmonica did Tijn use for the accompaniment of The S...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-vvLi5WVPk No harmonica involved. But this guy is ingenious anyway. And he shows a marvellous example how to modify and develop an old and well known instrument - in this case even one from the middle ages. An aspect which is vivid in this forum as well. He is perfor...
