Many thanks for that Brendan. Yes, I appreciate everything you say there. I have often wondered how the distance from mouth to reed would affect the sound. I tried with a piece of syphon, and yes, it doesn't take much distance for the note to lower in pitch. Anyhow, the ball valve is a nice idea and I'll continue to toy with it. Will see if I can get my hands on a small quantity of the ones you suggested, but I don't have high hopes. Nice to have someone to vent ideas too anyway (and be taken seriously!) Will continue to try and come up with a mouthpice for the two respectively/exclusively blow draw harps, but I'm hoping you beat me to it.

Yes, pretty much.

The entrapped-ball heart valves are exactly what I had in mind Brendan. I can't seem to find what size they are though; same goes for the duckbill style valves. I am working on this thing, but don't hold your breath!

I ordered some mini duckbill valves to give them a go. Haven't tried them in situ but my feeling is that their opening pressure is too high.

I don't believe a spring is needed Brendan.Breath will move a small plastic ball easily enough to block or open the hole. I'm working on this....up to clumsy prototype no.5 now.........

It's not easy getting things working well in these tiny instruments, good luck!

I know that Slipslider among other projects take up much space right now but are there more modifications or changes that need to be done to Unibender or is it a finished product that are in the product line ready to be released after Slipslider?

It's pretty much ready, though I'd need to double check everything as I haven't looked at it for a while. There is another product coming after I have all the SlipSlider versions out, then I'll get to the UniBender.

Does this new product have something to do with playing chromatically?
