Re: Lucky 13 - Best harp I've played!

What is the best way to find out when the lucky 13 harps (Paddy Richter tuning) become available? Website indicates Jan 22.

Thanks.

Re: Regular Scottish Tuning

Of course, Gary Lehman is a harmonica customizer. I couldn’t remember his name a few minutes ago.

Brendan, if you have ideas I’d appreciate your input.

Re: Regular Scottish Tuning

Thanks for your advice. I’m in Connecticut, USA. Quebecois tunes follow the general modes and keys of both Irish and Scottish, and Cape Breton, music. Most tunes are in fiddle-friendly/single-row accordion friendly keys: D, G, A, C (in order of tunes per key) and their relative minors. A mixolydian ...

Re: Regular Scottish Tuning

Thanks for that suggestion and link to the schematics. I’m new to harmonicas and am learning slowly about all the different tunings and variables possible. I started to play tremolo because it seemed so intuitive to me since I come from a background of single row button accordion. I see the advantag...

Re: Regular Scottish Tuning

I can see how the Scottish tuning could be used to play Quebecois tunes. Is there a harmonica easily available with this tuning or is it a custom order? I play tremolo and to get a single reed sound I bring my upper lip down over the top holes and tip the holes up to olet myu focus the breathing int...

Re: Tremolo octave range in single reed harmonica?

Thank you for your advice and the links to the Lucky 13 and the Inverted beBop/Scottish tuning. I’ll take time today (day off from work!) to read and investigate and listen to and watch the videos and examples. After about a 45 year lay off from playing harmonica, when I was working out Duke Ellingt...

Re: Tremolo octave range in single reed harmonica?

To be more precise, I like the full low octave with no missing notes.

thanks.

Tremolo octave range in single reed harmonica?

I like the three octave range of the Suzuki Humming (D) tremolo. Which of the Brendan Power harmonicas will give me that 3, or more, octave range? I’m new to playing harmonica and had no idea there actually were options in tunings. I’m playing primarily Quebecois, Scottish, Irish. I understand that ...

Re: Cajun and Quebecois tunes

Thank you for your reply and advice. I had thought a C harmonica for Cajun because I play a C diatonic single row accordion when I play Cajun tunes. Your recommendation to use a G harmonica is a good idea to then be able to play in first position. Quebecois/French-Canadian music is, to my non-native...
