Re: Discontinued

For the Chromabender type harp: .... Do you have advice as far as valving the reeds on the active plate? I am looking at the same thing myself. I asked up a bit further how to do it for PC tuning, which is close to what you have done. Given his comment that "You don't want to put any valves in that...

Re: Discontinued

You don't want to put any valves in that will interfere with the airflow between active red and x-reed. Assuming you put your x-reeds on the bottom reedplate (as with the ChromaBender), and it's in Solo tuning, you should not put on any inside valves holes 1-3 or an outside valve on hole 4 (or the ...

Re: Discontinued

I just finished making my own chromabender. ..... The one I finished is in C, made from 270 reedplates. C6 tuning. @CrawfordE I am working on the same thing. If you don't mind me asking, how did you set up the valves on the X-reed plate? Or did you set up any on them at all. That seems to be a piec...

Re: Power Chromatic

It had never occurred to me to do this before but seems like a very intriguing modification! @ Paris. If you like Diatonic then you might like something I am working with. I just flipped the plates. That way, when I am pushing the slide, I am always "Going Down," so to speak. Couple of things this ...

Re: Discontinued

The Asiabend is great. You will get used to the all draw faster than you think. It just takes a different kind of breath regulation. There is some discussion deeper in this board on them. I missed the ball also on Chromabenders, unfortunately. I probably would have picked up a set if I was paying at...

Re: Chromabender in the key of C

I was trying to buy an A one myself. I just recently picked up a C and that is a great harp. I would love to see it back.
@Brendan, I know it is discontinued, but are you aware of any dealers that might be sitting on old stock? If so, I would like to pick up a couple of other keys.

Chromabender x-reed setup question (PC tuning)

I just recently setup a C chromabender to PC CEbGBb/DFAC. For the x-reed, I tuned holes 1 to 3 down to a point where I can get a full step out of the bend. I am a bit confused the 4th x reed. I am assuming it's is for the draw interaction. I dropped it a bit also; however on 4 blow, (depending how I...

Re: Lucky 13 in PowerBender, PowerDraw & Paddy Richter

What is a Power Chrome? And since you use both Powerbender and Powerdraw, What do you like better about powerbender than powerdraw? Power Chrome, Power Chromatic, or "PC" Is a Brendan Power alt tuning for a chromatic. The best way to explain this is if you are already using the Power Bender tuning,...

Re: Lucky 13 in PowerBender, PowerDraw & Paddy Richter

@rishio I primarily TB on only Power Bender and Power Chromes now. You aren't missing out on anything that you can't live without. When I first picked up the PB, coming from Richter, I started focusing on TBing both sides and forward. It really helped me overcome the "different-soundedness" of PB to...

Re: What Would You Like to See?

So just saying that I vote for more Powerbender stuff. I will ditto this one. @ poster: I moved over to powerbender myself this year. If you have not already, order that PowerBender book. The book is great, and the audio files will be invaluable. After you walk through the written lesson in the boo...
