Re: Guilhem Desq

Oh yes, indeed. The last year I experienced Symbio in concert - and purchased both of their CDs. Thanks for the link. This about the bending is very interesting. I have heard this some times in the past. But I did not realize that this practically was reed bending. And neither I knew how this was do...

IRISH HARMONICA LOCKDOWN DUET - Tijn Berends & Brendan Power

I just discovered that Brendan did it too. :D IRISH HARMONICA LOCKDOWN DUET - Tijn Berends & Brendan Power Jig to Reel Mist Covered Mountains The Sligo Maid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdWGJf_rfE8 Very nice! A technical question: What kind of harmonica did Tijn use for the accompaniment of The S...

Guilhem Desq

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-vvLi5WVPk No harmonica involved. But this guy is ingenious anyway. And he shows a marvellous example how to modify and develop an old and well known instrument - in this case even one from the middle ages. An aspect which is vivid in this forum as well. He is perfor...

alphorn sounds across the valley

One more off-topic about a beautiful wind instrument, which maybe might be appreciated in those quarantine times: https://www.swrfernsehen.de/landesschau-bw/alphornblasen-gegen-den-corona-blues-100.html The range under the given local geographic conditions is about 3 km (~ 2 miles) - without any amp...

Folk Wind Instruments in Sweden

As there are some people from Sweden here and some others who are interested in Swedish folk music, I think this off-topic might be welcomed here (all videos in English): https://youtu.be/IBprWHPykXU And here the link to Emely's Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYqbZslIXPZoaz3KA4fwH3...

Re: Lucky 13 Power Chromatic key of D

I think I am beginning to understand how to choose which harmonicas I might want—all of them! ... After reading your posts I plan to buy at least the PC in G as a starter. Then as I begin to develop my skills I can make a better decision about which other harps to buy. I guess you just have got it....

Re: Lucky 13 Power Chromatic key of D

How about taking both of them? Which one is best for you to play any song might depend on the tune and the chords you want to play. This might vary from tune to tune. And you could always try which one fits best for you to play the very tune. :D

Re: New Tool and Method for Improving Harmonica Reed Response

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_article_surveillance#Acousto-magnetic_systems I presume a very thin feeler gauge (aka thickness gauge or ignition gauge) will do as well. I use one with the thickness of 0,05 mm, which always is in my harmonica tool box. Usually I use it for the correction of...

Re: NEW - instructional videos for Play Irish Music on the Blues Harp

No. I have a laptop with MSWindows7 and Google Chrome. (Maybe you have seen it. I had it with me in Norrköping.) I am definitely not able to change anything on this machine, because the next thing would be, that there will not run anything any more. If any of the videos will run like the trai...
