Re: Seydel Nonslider
My argument was if someone have one or two unused deluxe in their drawer because it did not meet the expectations as is, Propably this is a thing that nobody at Seydel's ever did expect nor can imagine. :D ... you can freely switch many parts between many of the other models because of same measure...

Re: Seydel Nonslider
Well....i thought the decision not offer a mouthpiece as a spare was to odd, so i have talked to Seydel and they have now decided to offer it as a spare. :D That was a good idea. And I hope you did not mention my name as a reference. Did you talk to Bertram Becher? Or was it anyone else? Thi...

Re: Seydel Nonslider
Good work Lizzy :D +1 People seem to be finding more possibilities with the Nonslider all the time, especially this guy: https://youtu.be/N2JfDBj6u3k In this particular video, he plays holes from the two rows simultaneously to significantly expand the set of chords in Solo tuning. I think it's cool...

Re: Hohner PentaHarp (a 1990s alternate tuning)
I changed the title of this discussion because, according to Andrew Zajac: In Pat Missin's Altered States list of altered tunings, this tuning is 11.15, "Blues Scale Tuning" which has been known since the 90s. And Hohner had a harmonica called "Penta" in about 1955. It was a harmonica with 10 notes...

Re: Hohner PentaHarp (a 1990s alternate tuning)
Hohner says that the 2, 5 and 8 draws can give "semitone" bends. Does this make sense? As far as I can understand, this can not really make any sense. (But my knowledge about these things is restricted.) As far as I can see, a draw bend between D and Eb (=D#) would be a quarter tone bend. This is s...

... but can eventually buy the mouthpiece when they will be available, just for curiosity. As far as I know Seydel has planned this. At least they will offer the mouthpiece as a spare part one day, since they just recently have decided, that they will offer the Nonslider as a regular model from now...

Re: Request help with terminology
I exchanged the upper and the bottom reed plates of a standard Richter harmonica, just as an experiment. The tone layout of each reed plate remained the same. Air direction changed from blow to draw and vice versa. Bending, overblow and overdraw changed fundamentally. The latter I did not yet check ...

Re: History of Natural Minor tuning?
Q2: I presume maybe it was Tombo with the model "Minor Boy" - the predecessor of the later "Lee Oskar". The first ones I had were in 1981 or 1982, when the first importer of Tombo harmonicas appeared on the German market. In Japan they might have been available even earlier, and in the US maybee to...
