Diatonic tunings inspired by the Wedin Chromatic
Brendan mentioned using my Wedin Chromatic tuning for diatonics in the other thread, and I thought it might be worth mentioning the diatonic variations I've tried myself. Just FYI :) The first one is a simple retune of the slide-out notes of my original tuning: flattening 1, 5 and 9 draw, and 4, 8 a...

Re: Introducing the Wedin Chromatic – folk music ornaments in many keys
For now I'm just exploring the simple diatonic version anyway. I'm interested to see how it would sound in a real harp with bends, so will retune a Lucky 13 and give it a try. While it's quite nice to play without the slide as-is, for diatonics there are some variations one can make to make it more...

Re: Introducing the Wedin Chromatic – folk music ornaments in many keys
Thank you very mugh for the feedback, Brendan! :) I'll answer the three posts in turn. --- Regarding the use of extra buttons: I do think it could be helpful, but I don't really follow your reasoning. I think you might have misunderstood something, but I'm not sure. First, the slider is not complete...

Soaking half-valved diatonics?
When I clean my valve-less diatonics I usualy first let them soak in warm water for 10-15 minutes or so, either the whole harp or just the reedplates if it has a wooden comb. If it's a harp I've equipped with gasketvalves, I take it apart to dry. Is this a good method to use with the half-valved har...

Re: New Chinese Digital/MIDI Harmonica - the HM12
Thanks for bringing attention to this new product, and for your comprehensive reviwe! Someone seem to have put quite some thought into it, especially the effects triggered by the rockers look very interesting. Having already bought a DM48 (and being between jobs at the moment...) I'll have to think ...

Re: Minor tuning adjustment to Power Chromatic Lucky 13
When I read 'melodic minor', I think of a scale where both the sixth and the seventh can be either major or minor (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minor_scale#Melodic_minor_scale). The major sixth above the note A is an F#, which is missing from your proposed tuning (unless you use overblows or valved...

Re: Seydel Nonslider
Excellent I sent them an email asking if I could purchase just the mouthpiece as I have no need for a c Harp in solo tuning. No reply as yet. While corresponding with Seydel about something else I asked precisely the same question. They just told me to keep an eye on the homepage to see when it wou...

Would the new Seydel NonSlider allow you to easily use embouchure to easily play both rows? That might shed some new interesting light on the ideas in this thread

Seydel are appearing on the stream of this years Chromatic Weekend, 1:15 pm UK time today. In yesterday's introductory speech they mentioned that Seydel would introduce something new, so we might get to know more about it.
