Re: Lydian Tuning
Here is the layout of my Seydel Sampler in the keys of D major and A mixolydian: https://up.picr.de/35270179sp.jpg The Seydel sampler is a double diatonic with slide, solo tuned on both of the reedplates. Its default tuning is D+A, switching from one to the other by the slide. By retuning the G#s of...

Re: Maximally re-tunable reed?
Or it might initially be tuned at or near its theoretically lowest pitch, and have its re-tuning latitude extend upwards from there. I would recommend this. Because reduction of material at the fastened end of the reed reduces solidity and durability more than reduction at the free end. At the fast...

Re: TuneMaster harmonica
Indeed. That gives nourishment to my suspicion that it could have been a kind of premature April fool hoax. https://up.picr.de/35113231mf.png Or if not a joke, maybe it is an idea in progress, not yet marketable, and announced too early. We might wait what there will come. The Youtube video is still...

Re: Idea for slideless chromatic harp
Btw: The pictured display with two different colours for blow and draw reeds is suitable for harmonicas which change air direction with every reed on each reedplate. For harmonicas with only blow or only draw reeds on each reedplate the simple classical layout tab is sufficient. Anyone can easily un...

Re: Idea for slideless chromatic harp
The S-50's layout seems more intuitive to me. I think I will try one. I think so as well. It depicts the layout of the harmonica exactly like you see it when looking on the mouthpiece. Here you can see some more examples, if you like to adapt it as well: Suzuki Humming SU-21-H (Tremolo) https://up....

Re: Idea for slideless chromatic harp
Another approach is to adopt a design like the Tombo S50. Pat Missin has written a good article on it and other slideless chromatics here: https://www.patmissin.com/ffaq/q24.html This requires no bending or overblowing to get a chromatic scale, though they are possible. Quite an interesting harmoni...

Re: TuneMaster harmonica
Thank you.
It really seems that this turbo slide technics only work on the blow reeds.
For applications like shown in Brendan's video this is sufficient.
But with the TuneMaster harmonica it would supply only half of the thing that I would wish.
dear greetings

Re: TuneMaster harmonica
Ok, if you think so. Then let us wait till it is on stock again. Maybe the first one who might purchase it can write a review here. Considering about magnetism as the function principle: If it is working with the reeds directly being affected by magnetism (*), magnetic reeds are the precondition tha...

Re: TuneMaster harmonica
This looks nice! But it only works on the blow reads, right? It's really hard to see in the video, and I get t he feeling he is hiding the bottom reed plate. Still cool though, there's a lot you can do by only changing the blow reeds! I think he is pretty much hiding everything essential on this vi...
