Re: Seydel Nonslider
Well....i thought the decision not offer a mouthpiece as a spare was to odd, so i have talked to Seydel and they have now decided to offer it as a spare.

Re: Seydel Nonslider
Thank you Triona, but i already have a powerchromatic deluxe, and as someone else also noted, dont need another in solo tuning. I prefer my 12 hole soloist pro steel and lucky 13 with valves but can eventually buy the mouthpiece when they will be available, just for curiosity . But do you feel any d...

Re: Seydel Nonslider
Triona...Did you try to overblow the nonslider? If you did..did you experience it easier compaired to a 10 hole diatonic? I would imagine a similar result because the nonslider have 2 reeds i each chamber which a 10 hole diatonic also have, and both reeds interact with each other but on different pl...

Re: Soaking half-valved diatonics?
I have actually never tried to soak my Seydels with the felt type valves, because when they got stuck to often, i just rip them of and just glue new ones on after i cleaned the reedplate. It only takes a few minutes for me. If my concern is bacteria i use Seydels Desinfection bag with some manual re...

Re: New Chinese Digital/MIDI Harmonica - the HM12
Its a alternative. You now have two midi harmonica to choose from :D But as Brendan says..you have better sound from DM48/Ipad combination and you also have a continous and a lot more apps to choose from. And the built-in tuning editor also adds another advantage. But all development is welcome and ...

Re: Seydel Nonslider
The nonslider is sure a good alternative if you master it with speed ( if you need it) or like the tilting action. Its similar to Winslow Yerxas discrete comb with the difference that you have 2 reeds in each chamber to discrete combs 1 reed per chamber. Discrete comb is made for 10 hole diatonic. P...

Re: HARMONICA TUNING DIAGRAMS = An Alternative Approach
I like Brendans layout. Its both logical and practical. Its easier to see and do, then to know note names on the reedplate. What you see is what you need, for me at least. I dont read notes either and this layout is easier to see whats easier/difficult to manuver in certain tunings depending if you ...

Re: An Idea in Need of an Application - Suggestions?
Even if i have get used to more blow patterns i actually prefer draw patterns. Ex. G Powerchromatic playing in Bm pentatonic have most of the notes in a draw pattern. I dont know all tunings, but to me, it seems that not that many tunings can be played with minor pentatonic scales with the majority ...

Re: Lucky 13 in Diminished Tuning - Just Released
If you dont want to spend hundreds of dollars to customize a harmonica to overblow/overdraw in the need of playing a chromatic scale, the diminished tuning is the way to go. Dont suits everyone because you need to be a little more conscious in your playing. But if you are used to bending this is a v...
