Re: All 24 major and minor triad chords in 12-hole slide harp
Theoretically good La Nerd, but how would you make it? Existing chromatic reedplates are not suitable. It would require purpose-made reedplates and comb, a very expensive investment for any company.

Re: Exotic Harps, Spare Parts, No Longer made Harps
Sorry, this thread was just brought to my attention by David, my website manager. I wasn't trying to avoid the issue, just missed it is all! Don't worry, we have mechanisms in place. Re. the ChromaBender: Gary Lehmann in San Diego is available to do repairs, including reed replacement. For the Lucky...

Re: Chromatic Harmonica for Indian Classical Raaga
Hi RN, I have thought about this a lot, because I love Indian classical music. Conventional harmonicas can't do all the bends (meends) that Indian singers and instrumentalists use. I created one that I think can do better, called the AsiaBend, but I would love your honest opinion. As a test I played...

Re: Power Chromatic
@ Rishio: Yes indeed, PowerChromatic and PowerBender have one octave in common. PowerChromatic is a symmetrical tuning: every octave is the same. PowerBender has PowerChromatic in the mid-range holes 4-7, but diverges in the bottom and top range. Richter holes 1-3, and a repeat of Richter holes 8-10...

Re: Lucky 13 Custom
Check this page and talk to one of these guys:
http://www.brendan-power.com/lucky13.ph ... dRepairers
Of them all, Ben Bouman is the best known for his embossing work, but I'm sure all of them can do that kind of stuff.

Sure - but theory and diagrams are one thing, the actual sounds these tunings create are another. Looking forward to hearing you PLAY some of these things

Re: When not to use a half-valved chromatic?
Winslow: Yes, valved bending as on a stock fully-valved chrom gives you big bends, but not easily CONTROLLABLE bends. There is not a single chrom player i know who uses valved bending to get sustained notes. They just use them for colour and inflection. Nice - but nothing like the expression and ben...

Re: Unvalved chromatic or double diatonic
An Overblow Chromatic is a good aim and one I'm sure will come to fruition. Ideally it should be the same size as a 10-hole diatonic, because overblowers come from that background. One possibility is shown here, and will be out there very soon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xK_wXODAQ0Y&t=5s I'm in...

Re: Diagrams of well-known tunings
Thanks IaNerd - very useful to see all these tunings with such a clear graphical display.
