Re: urgently searched sparepart

When will Brendan be back again?
Or is here anyone else who is knowing and can tell, if standard chrom Hering 5140 has the same construction and dimensions as Brendan's Slide Diatonic Hering 6040?

Re: urgently searched sparepart

Thanx. Looks quite similar, and is still available. But most probably it needs some tweaking to fit it to the harmonica. And this material is really "tweak-resistant". Does anyone here know, whether the Hering 5140 is identical with the Slide Diatonic concerning basic construction, form and dimensio...

urgently searched sparepart

Hi Brendan, by accident the slider of one of my slide diatonics has been bent unhappily very sharp:  https://up.picr.de/33953662bq.jpg https://up.picr.de/33953664de.jpg https://up.picr.de/33953665ib.jpg Of course - what I feared at once - it happened, as I cautiously tried to align it again: ...

Re: Any news?

Looks like all blow reeds on both sides? I think I have seen something once before. It is even not very long ago. But I cannot remember where at the moment. At least there is no serial production or has been at any time. I had been thinking some times that this maybe could be a good idea. For the ma...

Re: Pentatonic tunings

Out of interest: If you want all chromatic notes without bends, why not play a chromatic harmonica? The motivation for pentatonic tunings was to be able to play all chromatic notes with bends, but without overblowing. And the point of the discussion above is that we can have this in a little harmon...

Re: Diagrams of well-known tunings

On my Seydel 1847 it is B.

Following the "definition" of "Do-it" as I know it, this is correct:
Draw 2 and Draw 3 one wholetone lower each than Standard Richter, all the rest the same as Richter.

question about retuning harmonicas

Last evening I made my first attempt to retune a harmonica. I took a new chinese budget harp from the mall. It was in Richter C. (There are no others with this type.) I retuned it into C# / Db - just a semitone up on each reed, nothing extravagant. Just to get a feeling for this work. And I had no b...

Re: Books PLAY IRISH MUSIC ON THE CHROMATIC HARMONICA

Hello Brendan, welcome back to the Old World again. I hope you had a nice time at the Mississippi, and good business success too. This post is just to bring this up again, that it might not be overlooked. The answer cannot be that difficult. And I would like to order the one or the other soon. dear ...

Re: Pentatonic harmonica

... I would want some of the root notes to be a draw note. I think I could get some fast runs out of this through two or more octaves, am I mistaken? ... I guess this could be one of the intended main features of tunings like this - besides the intention to avoid enantonics / redundances for the sa...

Re: Pentatonic tunings

This is very interesting indeed. Thank you for sharing. One-key "Pentabender" tuning ( plays C major scale without bends; has F major pentatonic in blows, G major pentatonic in draws ): DE.FG.GA.AB.CD.DE.FG.GA.AB.CD. There are quite a lot of enharmonics with plain breath - i.e. without bending - as ...
