Re: Saws for cutting reed plates?

I think this looks like a nice small tool. Maybe good for some small and precise serial cuttings, as well as for mitre cuts. But since I have made not so good experience with a freehand mini circular saw, I would prefer a mini angle grinder with ultra thin blades (*) for cutting reed plates, at leas...

St. Patrick's Day 2018

For the Irish souls among the users a little gimmick off-topic, i.e. not containing the use of any harmonica: A small Pipeband of three lovely young ladies from all around the globe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXm8JdC4k4c I was delighted very much.  http://up.picr.de/23437218dc.jpg http://up.pi...

Re: Unibender

Oh how long a time! Believe me, there are harmonicas in the world, on which I had to wait for more than 2 years or even longer, after I had taken knowledge of their existence and wanted to have them. Just because of they were very rare (some historical ones) or very difficult to obtain (so...

Re: Unibender

But you still have some haronicas of the old types to play in the meantime? ;) That just the patent stuff is consuming so fuckin' much time and effort, is a very frustrating thing. But there is no help. We are living in a fuckin' capitalist world. And always there are waiting some parasite people wh...

Re: Asiabend

Thank you for the hint and the link. Listening and closely looking on the videos seem the best way to me too. Alone for the fact that often there are many different ways to get the tune, sound, effect etc, which depend very much on the individual player's taste, intention and skills. But anyway: If ...

Re: New Album: UNADORNED

Hi Brendan, I just got me a download copy. It had been just running in the background, while I wrote this. :) Sounds nice. Interesting is the mix of Chinese style and Irish tunes on some of the tracks. Not that you were the first to do so - Chieftains did it since long ago - but now also on the harm...

Re: Q: How to join two harps with magnets?

Seems to be a very good idea. Thanks for sharing. I would prefer to mount the wedges the other way round, so that the distance between the two harps is narrower at the mouthpiece than at the outlet. I think this would meet my ergonomy better. Anyway, for playing electrically (with microphone cupped)...

Re: Table of reedplate dimensions?

Looks quite helpful, if someone is in need for spareparts to any odd old or exotic model not longer available, as well as for some tuning jobs.
Thank you.

Re: Tombo Pocket Bass harp: re-tuning

Of the original natural notes, only the D is repeated. No. The A besides the D is duplicated too. If you want to break the order of the notes in fifths from left to right and in thirds from the lower row to the upper row, then you can do so. You even can retune one of the A's into a G# or a Bb. The...

It is up to you to suggest this to Seydel.
Maybe they might add it.
