Re: Diatonic PowerCombs and Stealth-Valves Released

Hi Karl, yes: choose the Suzuki Stealth-Valves. You might have to trim the valve bases here and there, but they will fit my own-brand PowerBender and PowerDraw harps.

I also make them for the PowerBender and PowerDraw Lucky 13, though they fit best on my Lucky 13 PowerComb.

Re: Discontinued

The ChromaBender was discontinued due to problems with the maker, Hering. They have been taken over by new management and communication, always difficult, became too tiresome to deal with. Eventually the hassle factor outweighed everything else and it was simply easier to cease dealing with the comp...

Re: Exotic Harps, Spare Parts, No Longer made Harps

Easier and faster to assemble. You can replaced welded reeds without a drill press if you're careful with a regular drill. Reeds can even be attached with Superglue if you don't like drills and screws.

Re: Diatonic PowerCombs and Stealth-Valves Released

Re. Prices: Note that they all include International Postage. That's not cheap but, as David says, multiple buys bring the per-kit price down. Try buying single valves online and compare the prices including postage - you'll find most are higher than mine in the final tally, and single valves don't ...

PowerChromatic: The 12 Major Scales with Bends ; Setup Advice

Using draw bends to get the sharps and flats on PowerChromatic makes playing in all 12 keys easier and smoother than on a standard chromatic. Re: MiniChrom Prototype, played by Mitch Weiss

Hi Ed - currently I have the MiniChrom designed for Hohner, Seydel & Suzuki diatonics, and will add Easttop as well. There are only subtle differences between Hohner/Suzuki/Easttop sizes, but of course the Seydel version has wider hole spacing. We're just working on getting all the ordering options ...

Re: reviews of Brendan's harmonicas

Thanks Triona for the comprehensive reviews. Google Translate works better and better. As for harmonicas made in China: we'd better get used to them, because more and more of us will be playing Chinese harmonicas in the future if present trends continue. Manufacturers like Easttop and Kongsheng are ...

Re: Blues tuning **with 7ths** for 10-hole harp

Are the reed pitches going up for a 3 octave range, as on a normal harp? If so, this one shouldn't be too hard to make.

I suggest you do that and treat us to the sounds it produces :-)

MiniChrom Prototype, played by Mitch Weiss

I sent one of my Richter 10-hole MiniChrom prototypes to New York player Mitch Weiss to evaluate. Mitch has been playing my old custom Richter CX10s for many years. He found the small size and moving slider/mouthpiece a bit odd at first, but he seems to be adapting pretty well - judging by the sound...
