Canada & USA

I'd like to get some of the .0001shims Beendan demonstrated for reed work.

I can find a roll with a multi lifetime supply for about $80 Canadian but it's way more that I need or want to spend.

There are few or no local sources.

1) Any online dealers of pieces instead of big sheets?

) If I but too much for me to use on my own does any want some for them selves?

.0001shims
Looks very much like this is an imperial unit.
Can you specify this in metric unit = mm or µm?

I use 0,05 mm = 50 µm.
And these are easily to get in small pack or even single in shops for car and motorcycle repair supply, at least in DE / EU. I guess this is in US / CA as well.

Hi,

I'm not sure if the size is what you are looking for, but I found the metal strip inside the music CD theft prevention tag very useful for harmonica reed work.

I went to my CD collection and found loads of those plastic sticks usually stuck between the CD tray and the back of the case. If you carefully separate it from the case and then trim the end off, you get a good shim out. Like a kinder egg but no chocolate and actually useful!

This could work as well.
Most simple. Seems to be a good idea.
