Hi

I wonder if I change from the normal key-A Session Steel from Seydel to
the also available powerbender key A Session Steel from Seydel.

My question is:
Is it very difficult to make this Switch?

I do not Play very often overblows So in my opinion it should be not a big
change from the normal richter A session steel to the powerbender session steel.

Is this true?

It is not a difficult switch. I would definitely recommend pulling the trigger on it. The natural breath pattern to the upper octave will feel familiar, so you may find yourself playing holes 6 - 10 quite a bit more than you usually do, especially if you are playing multiple positions. The only thing you may "miss" it the 2-5 draw TB split. Instead you have a fat 2-6 draw octave (E - E), and another draw octave on 6-10 (E-E).

Bonus: If you were to take the middle octave of the Powerbender in a repeating pattern up the whole harp, then you have the Powerchromatic tuning that is also discussed on this board. So if you decide to get a harp in that setup (Powerchromatic) down the line, you will already have a familiarity with the breath pattern.

If you are into Easttop, then you can get a sandwich style A Powerbender from Brendan's website for way cheaper than Seydel. I don't have any of that particular release, but I play some other Easttop harps and they make a great harp OOTB for their price. Powerbender may not be for you, so getting an Easttop will save you some money on experimenting.

Hi Sachlaw

Thx for your post.
Yesterday the Seydel session steel PB "A" arrives here in Stuttgart.
I prefer stainless steel reeds, thats why I prefer the Seydel HW.

In fact its a switch and I have to become familiar with that tuning.
Next week I will test ist with the band and give a Feedback oncemore.
