Thank you both for your replies and all the information. I think I'll start with a G PR, and then maybe check out a solo.

My unique Look-Dots (small position markers on the front of the comb) make it easy to know where you are on the Lucky 13 Mk2. Here's a video showing how they work for the standard Richter model. The same info applies to the PowerBender, PowerDraw and Paddy-Richter harps too.

Solo, PowerChromatic and Diminished, tunings where the scale repeats every 4 holes, have three Look-Dots. I'll do a separate video on them.

Nice video! You make a good job advertising them :)

By the way, the difference in sound between the Marine Band and the Lucky13 is quite striking.

Hi all a newbie seeking some advice. I've just taken delivery of a handful of, what I assume are, the new Lucky 13 Mk2s (Power Draw). It's my first venture into alternate tunings, so very much a novice.

On first use there seems to be a lot of air leakage on some of the lower, standard range, holes (draw and blow) and several of the bass notes suffer from a lot of rattling and resonance. Some carry on zizzzing after the draw or blow ends and that's with very light breath.

I'm not comparing these with anything special, just basic Seydel Blues Solist and some older Hohner Cross Harps. I've not used bass harp so there could well be a technique thing going on there, time will tell. As far as the air leakage is concerned is this easy to fix with these harps?

Thanks in advance

Steve

Could you post s couple of photos of your harps Steve? Especially close ups of the bass end, to see if they have valves.

Thanks, BP

Hi Brendan, thanks for picking this up. I'm having trouble getting a decently focused image of the internals, but looking into the harp there appears to be a white cover / sleeve on the the reeds of holes 1&2.

Thanks

Steve

Low low reeds swing a lot more than standard reeds, so they will always be more airy. The valves on the Mk2 models are intended to counteract this. You say 'some' of your harps are more airy. Maybe you bought a mix of the new harps with low end valves and the older ones without? Without photos it's hard to tell.

A sound clip would be helpful too - we ask for such evidence in the 'Terms and Conditions' on our website. The best way to deal with this is if you send photos and/or a video clip to enquiries@brendan-power.com

Hi Brendan,

I'll have a go at the close image later. This is the collection, if those white sleeves are valves all six have them on the Bass holes 1&2.
