The SlipSlider Demystified

In my opinion, Zombor Kovacs' SlipSlider invention is the best thing to happen to the standard Richter harmonica in 125 years. Using graphics and playing demos, I show how it makes the harp easier to play and way more expressive than the old type, without losing any of its great qualities.

Now you can Make Your Own SlipSlider, or have it made for you by Expert Customisers . Info is here:

Yes, several plans are in place! They include designs in the works for a couple of new models where the outward form stays the same, and all the sliding happens inside the harp. They will be the Mk3 and Mk4 SlipSliders; quite a bit more tricky to make, and are some way down the road. But more immediately I will be offering the Seydel Session Steel as a SlipSlider Parts Kit and for making by customisers.

Virtually any harp can be turned into a SlipSlider if a person has the tech savvy to work through it. Below are some examples of ones I made when developing the Mk2 model, in sandwich and lipped comb versions. There were others, though I'm not sure if they included the 1847. If you wish you can adapt my video on how to make the Special 20 SlipSlider to create an 1847 one yourself:

As for Seydel, for the immediate future the Session will be the one to work with because it can be fitted with the TurboSlide, as shown here:
