Which MIDI Harmonica?

Brendan, Inspired by your fantastic MIDI harmonica videos, in the next 6 months or so I plan to purchase one of the two MIDI harmonicas you demo; either the Lekholm DM48 and the HM12. Do you have a preference? I'm excited to try all the available sounds. One of my first add-ons will be the SWAN Saxophone collection.

For quick plug and play with virtually no learning curve, the HM12 with its onboard sounds is best. Just run the audio lead out to your headphones or amp and you're playing instantly.

As a pure MIDI controller for outside sounds (such as the great SWAM collection now on iPad), the DM48 is superior. It has far more capacity to fine tune for your own preferences, plus you can add in your own tunings. Since I play through the iPad mostly, it's my choice between the two. However, it does have a steeper learning curve, so be prepared to spend time learning your way around.
